Inspired by Seiko’s rich tradition of sports timing, the Speedtimer collection draws on the brand’s pioneering achievements in precision timekeeping and the legendary Seiko Speedtimer introduced in 1969. This sophisticated mechanical chronograph combines the distinctive character of Seiko’s sports watches with modern watchmaking technology and refined finishing.
Featuring a highly legible white dial with contrasting dark sub-dials, the design recalls the classic “panda” chronographs of Seiko’s heritage. Applied indexes and LumiBrite-filled hands provide clear visibility, while the outer tachymeter scale emphasizes the watch’s motorsport-inspired character. The chronograph features a 30-minute counter at 9 o’clock and a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock, along with a date display.
Powered by Seiko’s Caliber 8R48 automatic chronograph movement, this timepiece incorporates a column wheel and vertical clutch for precise and reliable chronograph operation. The 34-jewel movement beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides a power reserve of approximately 45 hours, with manual winding capability. Crafted of stainless steel with super-hard coating, the watch features a dual-curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inner surface and a stainless steel bracelet with a three-fold clasp and push-button release.
