Ippolita Rosé Launch
Daughter of an American artist and an Italian intellectual, art and culture have been a significant part of Ippolita Rostagno’s life since birth. She spent her childhood immersed in art and architecture in the hills of Tuscany, and went on to earn her Baccalaureate in sculpture at the renowned Istituto D’Arte in Florence. Moving to the United States at age 18, Ippolita completed her studies at Occidental College in California before traveling to New York to pursue a career in modern dance.
Returning to her love of art and sculpture some years later, her commitment to creativity and originality didn’t end with shape and form. Before launching her eponymous fine jewelry collection, IPPOLITA, at Bergdorf Goodman in 1999, Ippolita spent several months developing an exclusive color of gold, whose glowing hue is especially flattering to skin tones. After some design experimentation, she quickly became known for her 18k gold collection, with classic sculpted bangles, hoops, and rings.
Ippolita’s dedication to craftsmanship means that every piece of her jewelry is made by hand. As Creative Director for the company, she has traveled throughout her native Italy and the world gathering inspiration for the brand. With her passion for all art forms, she focuses on spending time with master artisans, watching them create and adapting their techniques for the jewelry world. The IPPOLITA collection can be found at department stores across the globe, including Neiman Marcus, Saks, Bergdorf Goodman, and more.
Inspired by the exceptional artisans she’s met throughout her journeys of her native Italy, Ippolita launched ARTEMEST in the summer of 2015 to promote the growth of craftsmanship through the digital channel. The first e-commerce for high-end crafts made in Italy, ARTEMEST offers a selection of more than 1,000 artistic, handmade products realized by the most representative Italian craftsmen and designers. Such extraordinary makers range from the most renowned glass masters of Murano to the most ancient workshops of Florentine goldsmiths. ARTEMEST is the link between the new luxury connoisseur and the old world of craft, taste and knowhow, satisfying the rising demand for a more authentic life experience based on quality.
Ippolita currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, and serves on the board of the New York Academy of the Arts, ensuring that she is surrounded by extraordinary art and culture at home as well as abroad.
